Refrigeration services

Every job on this page is done by Chris Adams, the owner. Pick the one that fits, or call and describe what's happening.

Urgent refrigeration repair

A walk-in that's climbing, a reach-in that's warm on the line, an ice machine that quit mid-shift: when something is down and product is at risk, call (678) 314-4543 and tell Chris what the unit is doing.

He will ask a few plain questions, tell you what to check and what to leave alone, and come find the fault. Most of the time that means tracing the problem to the compressor, the evaporator, the condenser, a fan, a control or a leak, and fixing that part rather than talking you into a new box.

You get a straight answer about what failed, what it takes to fix it and whether the unit is worth fixing. No upselling.

Walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer repair

Walk-ins fail in a handful of ways: an evaporator that ices over, a condensing unit that won't run or runs without cooling, a door that no longer seals, a drain that backs up, a control that reads wrong. Chris has worked on all of them.

He checks the whole box, not just the part you noticed, so the repair holds. If your walk-in is cycling too often, running warm, sweating or building ice where it shouldn't, those are signs to call before it stops altogether.

Cold Works repairs walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers for restaurants, kitchens, stores and markets in and around Cartersville.

Ice machine service and repair

An ice machine that stops, makes less than it should, makes cloudy or thin ice or won't drop a batch usually comes down to water, scale, a sensor, a pump or the refrigeration side. Chris diagnoses it and fixes what's actually wrong.

Ice machines also need cleaning and descaling to keep making ice at full capacity, and a machine that gets that attention lasts longer than one that doesn't. Cold Works services undercounter and modular ice machines for bars, restaurants, convenience stores and kitchens.

Reach-in cooler and freezer repair

Reach-in coolers and freezers take a beating on a line: doors opened a hundred times a shift, hot kitchens, grease on the condenser coil. When one runs warm, freezes up, won't start or trips a breaker, Chris repairs it in place.

That covers reach-in refrigerators and freezers on the cook line, prep tables, bar coolers, display cases and the glass-door merchandisers up front in a convenience store. He will tell you if the unit has a real repair left in it or if it has reached the end, and let you decide.

Preventive maintenance plans

Most refrigeration failures give warning first: a dirty condenser coil, a worn door gasket, low charge, a drain that is starting to clog, ice building on an evaporator. On a maintenance visit Chris looks for exactly those things and fixes them while the unit is still running.

A plan means your walk-ins, reach-ins and ice machines get checked on a schedule instead of waiting for the night they quit. For a restaurant, that is the difference between a planned visit on a slow afternoon and a lost Friday.

What's included

what a maintenance visit includes

Commercial refrigeration system installation

Opening a kitchen, adding a walk-in or replacing a reach-in that has reached the end? Cold Works installs commercial refrigeration systems: walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in units and ice machines, including the condensing unit, line set, controls and start-up.

Chris sizes and sets the equipment for the way your kitchen actually runs, checks the charge and the temperatures before he leaves, and shows you how the controls work. The same owner who installs the system is the one you call afterward.
